- The City of Strongsville has been given state funding to address violent crime. The city has been given $1,620,514 through Governor Mike DeWine's Violent Crime Reduction Plan. The city will be using the funds to hire three full-time officers and five full-time dispatchers. The city reported 54 violent crimes in 2021 — a significant increase from the 12 reported violent crimes in 2018. (Cleveland 19 News)
- An off-price retailer will be opening a new location in Strongsville on Saturday. Sierra, a retailer focusing on active and lifestyle brands, will be opening its seventh location at 18220 Royalton Road in an 18,717-square-foot space. Sierra is owned by TJX Companies Inc., which owns T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
- Cuyahoga County is considering a new proposal to create a county-wide Child Protection Team. The team would make it easier to identify and support victims of abuse in Cuyahoga County.
