Strongsville Jail Guards to Receive Raises
Strongsville's nine jail guards will receive raises with their new contract.

Strongsville jail guards have entered into a new 3-year contract which will give them 3-percent raises this year, and 2-percent raises in both 2017 and 2018. The city currently employs nine full-time guards.
Strongsville Finance Director Joe Dubovec says that the increases could cost the city about $43,000 over three years.
Jail guards received raises of 2.25 percent in 2013, 2.5 percent in 2014 and 2.25 percent under the previous contract according to cleveland.com.

New union agreements were reached with service workers, building inspectors, patrol officers, police sergeants and lieutenants and firefighters in December. Strongsville director of human resources, Steve Kilo says the city is still working out the details on a contract for dispatchers.
