Strongsville Schools Reorganization to Eliminate 2 Administrative Positions
Reorganization continues at Strongsville Schools in an effort to adjust to declining enrollment and the closure of two schools.

The buildings and grounds supervisor position will be eliminated and the food services coordinator position will be outsourced at Strongsville schools as part of a staff reorganization.
The reorganization is necessary to adjust to declining enrollment and the closure and consolidation of four school buildings Schools Superintendent Cameron Ryba, told Cleveland.com
The current buildings and grounds supervisor, Kelly Quinn, will be laid off in August and the position will be eliminated. The food services coordinator position will be outsourced by a Chartwells, a N.Y. firm that provides students meals, reports Cleveland.com

Zellers Elementary School was closed last year, and Drake Elementary School will close at the end of this school year.
The new Strongsville Middle School, is currently under construction and will replace Albion and Center middle schools in August.

Ryba explained that the reduction in buildings has called for a redistribution of responsibilities. The buildings and grounds supervisor responsibilities will be assumed by Mark Donnelly, the district's director of business services. Donnelly's department no longer handles technology so he should be able to handle the additional role.
