Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:
- NOPEC will be switching all of its customers to a less expensive electricity provider. FirstEnergy will be providing electricity for 240 Ohio communities after NOPEC's provider was apparently issuing skyrocketing prices. NOPEC customers will not have to do anything to begin getting the lower rate. (City of Strongsville)
- According to the latest report by the Ohio Department of Health, Cuyahoga County has the majority of monkeypox cases in the state. The county has twice as many cases as the second highest county - Franklin County. The department is reminding residents that the virus is not spread as easily as COVID-19 and the threat of contracting Monkeypox remains low. (Fox 8 News)
- Cuyahoga County's Public Works Department is extending bridge work on Cedar Point Road Bridge. This is the second time this year that the department has had to extend construction deadlines due to information acquired after work began. According to the department, the Cedar Point Road Bridge will take longer due to substructure deterioration. (Cleveland.com)
