Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:

  1. Cuyahoga County is accused of continuously falling short of state standards for inmate care. The only reason the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction allows this to stand is that Cuyahoga County promises to build a new county jail. The biggest issues that continue to persist are understaffing, under-sized jail cells, insufficient employee training, insufficient medical care, and insufficient fire safety standards. It is not clear when the county will finally build a new facility. (Cleveland.com)
  2. Are you in the market for a new best friend? Patch, with the help of Petfinder, has compiled a list of adoption-ready pets in the Strongsville area that are searching for a forever home. Click to view the complete list of pets. (Strongsville Patch)
  3. A Cuyahoga County Council committee has progressed projects worth $5.3 million for approval from the full council. The projects will reportedly build a new zoo exhibit, new playgrounds, and renovate existing community centers. The funds for the projects are through the American Rescue Plan Act. (Cleveland.com)
