🌱 Whitney Road Bridge Project + Community Input On County Jail

Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:

1. A construction project for repairing Whitney Road's bridge over I-71 will last through November. The Ohio Department of Transportation project will narrow traffic to just one lane but traffic will continue throughout. Travelers should expect delays. (City of Strongsville)
2. Public health officials report that additional West Nile-positive mosquitos will likely be discovered in Cuyahoga County throughout the next few weeks. Positive mosquitos have been detected in Rocky River and Lake County already. The West Nile-infected mosquitos typically peak in August after being discovered in late July. Residents are encouraged to use insect repellent containing DEET, picaridin, or lemon eucalyptus oil. (Cleveland.com)
3. Cuyahoga County will be collecting public input on the new county jail. The county has scheduled a discussion meeting for Thursday, Aug. 25 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Jerry Sue Thornton Center. The discussion will be streamed on Cuyahoga County's Facebook account. (Cleveland.com)
