Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:
- A construction project for repairing Whitney Road's bridge over I-71 will last through November. The Ohio Department of Transportation project will narrow traffic to just one lane but traffic will continue throughout. Travelers should expect delays. (City of Strongsville)
- Public health officials report that additional West Nile-positive mosquitos will likely be discovered in Cuyahoga County throughout the next few weeks. Positive mosquitos have been detected in Rocky River and Lake County already. The West Nile-infected mosquitos typically peak in August after being discovered in late July. Residents are encouraged to use insect repellent containing DEET, picaridin, or lemon eucalyptus oil. (Cleveland.com)
- Cuyahoga County will be collecting public input on the new county jail. The county has scheduled a discussion meeting for Thursday, Aug. 25 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Jerry Sue Thornton Center. The discussion will be streamed on Cuyahoga County's Facebook account. (Cleveland.com)
