Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:

  1. Strongsville Schools have committed yearlong substitute teachers to work exclusively with the district through the 2022-2023 school year. The memo is only good for this school year and the yearlong substitutes are not covered under the union's collective bargaining agreement. The policy is meant to increase the district's absence fill rate. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
  2. The Ohio High School Athletic Association has released this week's official football computer ratings. The Strongsville High School team has been ranked twelve in Division 1 Region 1. The team is currently 2-4. The top-ranked school in Division 1 Region 1 is Lakewood St. Edward at 5-1. (CantonRep.com)
  3. On Sep. 12, a Sandalwood Lane resident reported a scam call to the Strongsville Police Department. According to the resident, the scam caller impersonated the Cuyahoga County Sheriff and stated that the resident failed to show up in court.
