Cops Find Man's Weed in a Mason Jar: The Blotter

Mason jars aren't just for beer anymore.

On April 25 stopped a car on Cannon Road for speeding.

During the stop officers smelled what they believed to be "raw marijuana" coming from the car. The driver didn't come forward with anything, so officers did a quick search.

That's when they found a glass mason jar filled with marijuana inside a computer bag and a glass smoking pipe filled with marijuana on the passenger seat.

The man was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and speeding.

Waking the dead

The maintenance supervisor of Crown Hill Cemetary on Darrow Road called police April 25 for property damage.

Police found a $2,000 stone bench in the cemetary knocked over and broken.

"My chains are gone"

An owner of All States Trucking on Darrow Road called police on April 26 after someone stole several chains and binders from the rear of one of their trucks.

The man said the suspect was seen by a company employee and was driving a older white Dodge pickup truck.

Drunken driving accident

A 68-year-old Hudson man was arrested April 26 for drunken driving and hitting another car.

The man rear-ended a car on the entrance ramp from I-480 to State Route 82.

Police found an open bottle of Bacardi rum in the car. He was charged with drunken driving, open container and cited for the accident.
