Twinsburg Holds Off Solon Rally, Wins 67-61
Malik Billingsley led the Tigers with 21 points as Twinsburg dropped the Comets despite a late rally.
After a furious comeback by the Solon Comets fell short Friday night, Twinsburg Head Coach Bob Pasci thought his ticker was going to jump from his chest.
"Once my heart calms down a little bit, I'll be in good shape," Pasci said.
The Twinsburg Tigers were able to hang on against host Solon 67-61, but not before the Comets made things interesting.
Down by double-digits midway through the fourth quarter, Solon had an offensive rally, nailing four three pointers in the fourth when they needed them most, stunning the Tigers defense.
"We got a little bit excited when we saw a double-digit lead, but to give them (Solon) credit, they hit some shots," Pasci said.
Josh Glass led the scoring for the Comets, hitting four threes -- two in the fourth quarter - on the way to 18 points. Emmitt Mosely scored 17 points.
But the rally was too little, too late as the Tigers offense was able to gain control in the final minute of play, including two key free throws by junior Jalen Washington to ice the game. He would finish the game with five points. Billingsly led the Tigers in scoring with 21 points, and was a huge part of the Tigers' dominating third quarter.

"We cleaned it up, took care of the ball a little, exposed their defense, and we were able to get better shots," Pasci said of his team's performance coming out of the half.
"That was a big win for us," Pasci added.
