Twinsburg's Goodrich Plant Sale To Safran Completed

The transfer of the Goodrich Electric Power Systems plant on Darrow Road was part of Goodrich's $400 million sale of its electric power assets to Safran.

A Twinsburg plant is changing hands as part of a $400 million sale between two international companies.

The Goodrich Electric Power plant on Darrow Road was part of a transfer that completed this month as Goodrich Corp. sold its electric power assets to Safran, a France-based aerospace, defense and security company.

The sale was first announced last October.

Goodrich has roughly 100 people working at its Twinsburg plant, which works on power systems for aircraft. Safran executives say there is a chance more jobs could be coming to the plant in the future, reports the Twinsburg Bulletin.

“The trend toward more electric aircraft is a long-term, irreversible industry evolution which opens up new opportunities for our industry,” said Jean-Paul Herteman, Safran chairman and CEO, in a news release.
