Twinsburg Teen Charged With Grand Theft Auto

The information in this report is from the Twinsburg Police. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A 17-year-old Twinsburg teen is charged with grand theft auto after police say he stole a neighbor's car, and then crashed it on his way to visit his grandmother, according to Solon police.

According to the report, the teen's neighbor gave him her apartment key and told him to wake her in the morning. Instead, police say the teenager took her phone and the car, a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire.

The teenager took the car to visit his grandmother in Cleveland, but was driving on East 151st street when he lost control and hit a tree. The damage to the car made it not driveable, according to the report.
