8th Annual 'Nothing Like a Band' Variety Show Set for April 20
More than 300 are expected for annual variety show.
More than 350 attendees are expected at the 8th annual โNothing Like a Bandโ variety show April 20 at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Led by John Zehnder, the founder and director of The Lutheran Wind Ensemble, the 7 p.m. show will be held St. Paulโs Lutheran Churchโs activity center.
โThe show will include Marches, hymns and showtunes,โ Zehnder said of the evening. โWeโll have the band concert with variety acts and play popular tunes.โย

Intermission will feature a door prize drawing of six $50 JC Penney gift cards.
Zehnder founded the Ensemble in 1999 and is currently in its 15th season as a performing group, and the 8th at the church.

The show generally caters to an older audience.
โTheyโre usually gray-heads,โ Zehnder said.
The band also features six band directors, each of whom will conduct a number.
The two hour show was described by Zehnder as the โkind of evening people over 40 enjoy.โ
Patrons can expect the show to run until 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door.
'As of spring 2011, the ensemble has contributed $43,000 to Lutheran High School and grade school instrumental programs. The ensemble rehearses once a month at Lutheran West High School and performs regularly in the Cleveland area. The ensemble is welcoming new members.
