It's summer, and, yeah, it's supposed to be hot. But this heat should not be taken lightly, especially if you have children or elderly parents.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for much of the area. In Westlake, temperatures are going up into the mid-90s. The heat index -- where heat and humidity are factored together to get what temperature it feels like -- will be between 100 and 104 degrees.
Just to our west, in Lorain County, there is an excessive heat warning. The heat index there could get close to 110 degrees.

Just a reminder: Take care of your pets. If they're outside, make sure they can get to a shaded area and have plenty of water. Bring them indoors if you can. Watch for signs of dehydration. And don't leave them in the car while you're running your errands. The inside of a car can get dangerously hot in less than five minutes.

Saturday's going to be even hotter, with temperatures going into the upper 90s and a chance of thunderstorms Saturday night. It will be cooler on Sunday, in the low 80s.
