Virginia Geiger, 85, Mother of Three

Was a longtime Lakewood resident

Virginia H. (King) Geiger, 85, passed away July 29, surrounded by her family.

She was bornย April 18, 1927 in Pittsburgh and grew up in Mt. Lebanon, Penn. She studied drama at Carnegie Tech, and spent summers in Vermilion. It was at Linwood Park in Vermilion where she met Charley Geiger, whom she married onย ย July 16, 1947 in Mt. Lebanon. The couple settled in Lakewood.

Geiger worked in sales atย Geiger's Pendleton Shop in Rocky River. She was a liturgist at , and was active in the Lakewood Historical Society, putting her artistic flair to use as a holiday wreath-maker. Her other artistic pursuits included pastels and portraits.

Geiger is survived by childrenย Linda Tallitsch (John), Chasย Geigerย III (Patti) and Gordonย Geigerย (Susan); grandchildren, Tom Tallitsch (Carrie), Sarah Jankovic (Tom), Bill Tallitsch (Julie), Elizabeth Kasnekaw (Robert), Charlesย Geigerย IV, Christyย Geiger, Carolineย Geiger (fiance, Gray Pendleton) and Johnย Geigerย and great-grandchildren Lincoln Jankovic, Alayna Jankovic and Emery Tallitsch. She was preceded in death by her husband.ย 

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on August 19 at Busch Funeral Home,ย 21369 Center Ridge Road, Fairview Park. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. August 20 at .
