Westlake Veterans Honored by City Council
Veterans given banners that hung in city
Five Westlake residents who are veterans were recently honored by the city.
Before the last City Council meeting at , Mayor Dennis Clough presented the veterans with the banners bearing their pictures that have hung throughout the city.
Honored were U.S. Army Sergeant Chad Baon, U.S. Army Lt. Colonel Lee Pietrangelo M.D., U.S. Air Force Captain Jesus Romero, U.S. Army Captain Jose Romero and U.S. Army Captain Juan Romero.

This was the second banner Baon has gotten from the city. The first was for his 2008 tour of Iraq. He returned this year from serving in Afghanistan.
Pietrangelo has served several times, from being a Navy doctor in the 2003 invasion of Iraq to serving as an Army doctor in Afghanistan in 2010. He recently returned from a second tour in Afghanistan.

"It's wonderful to know that after 10 years, people still appreciate what our service men and women do, and support their families," he said.
Clough invited the veterans and their families to carry them in the city's Fourth of July parade.
