PORTLAND, OR — The snow started early Monday morning and within just.a few hours, there were more than eight inches of snow covering I-84 through the Columbia River Gorge. The blizzard led to whiteout conditions.

That led the Oregon Department of Transportation to close a roughly 50-mile stretch of I-84 from Troutdale to The Dalles.

It's so bad that even the Hood River Sheriff's Office called it "Snowpocalypse 2022."

"Check on your friends that work in road maintenance, because they are not ok. Anyhow, allow us to reiterate that you really should stay home today."
