The Oregon International Air Show returns to Hillsboro Airport from May 17 through 19, 2024, and I recently had the opportunity to speak with Edwin Pereira, a Comcast technician who works behind the scenes to provide internet connectivity to the event. Here’s what Edwin had to say:

The air show is one of my favorite events each year in Oregon, and this year’s show will feature exciting acts like the USAF F-16 Viper Demonstration and the KC-135 Demo Team.

You might wonder what Comcast Business has to do with the air show. Well, months before the show, Comcast technicians like me are planning and preparing the network installation needed to provide connectivity. We put in time, work, and expertise to ensure everyone at the show can be properly connected throughout the event.

Comcast Business has provided connectivity for the Oregon International Air Show for several years now. What exactly do we do, though? In the weeks leading up to the show, we installed and deployed the fiber optic, network, and coax infrastructure needed to provide the best connectivity to everyone.

Our Comcast Business network supports event vendors, operations, ticketing, security, and public attendees with Wi-Fi access so everyone can watch the action and post on social media. Comcast Business powers even the most high-traffic areas at the event and ensures everyone has the connectivity they need in Hillsboro.

We are also excited to share that Xfinity team members will be onsite at the air show sharing information about our new Xfinity Military Benefits. New and existing military-connected customers can receive specific discounts and upgrades, including a $180 Virtual Prepaid Card and much more.

We can’t wait to provide connectivity to the 2024 Oregon International Air Show. We are proud to be part of the community in Hillsboro and throughout Oregon and to be part of the fabric that makes our region’s events so special.

See you at the show!
