Hillsboro Veterans Day Events, Deals and Closings

HILLSBORO, OR —Veterans Day is Friday, Nov. 11 and Hillsboro businesses are offering discounts. There will also be a Veteran's Day Ceremony at the Washington County Veterans Memorial. Check out our breakdown below of all the best deals and events below.

Discounts

• Red Robin is offering a special discount for veterans on Nov. 11 at both of their Hillsboro locations. Veterans and active duty military get a free Red's Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries. That's a pretty delicious deal.

• Starbucks has a Veterans Day deal on Friday. Veterans, reservists, active duty service members and spouses get a free tall coffee at any of the three Hillsboro locations.

Parades/Ceremonies

Portland's Veterans Day Parade

The annual Ross Hollywood Chapel Veterans Day Parade is also taking place Friday. The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. Check out our guide to the parade for all of the details.

Washington County's Annual Veterans Day Ceremony

From 11 a.m. - noon on Friday, join veterans at the Washington Veterans Memorial. for this event. There will be remarks by U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici and Hillsboro Mayor Jerry Wiley, as well as a gun salute, taps, posting of the colors by VFW 2666 and service flags from American Legion Post 104. The ceremony is presented by Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services, Memorial Fund for Veterans of Washington County, VFW 2666 and American Legion 104.

Open/Closed on Veterans Day

Hillsboro city offices and libraries will be closed on Veterans Day. Also closed: The Walters Cultural Arts Center, The Hillsboro Community Senior Center, Tyson Recreation Center and Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve.

Facilities that will be open include the Outdoors In Playground and the Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center (SHARC), though SHARC will not be allowing drop-in classes on the day.
