Metro Council Race Results: Lewis Defeats Buck

Joe Buck and Christine Lewis wanted the Metro Council seat held by Betty Dominguez who was ousted by voters in the primary. Lewis won.

LAKE OSWEGO, OR – The race for a seat on the Metro Council pitted two people against each who both want to move up in the world. The world of politics, that is.

Joe Buck is a member of the Lake Oswego City Council and Christine Lewis works for Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian.

Both want to replace Councilor Betty Dominguez who is being ousted by the voters, having lost in the primary in May.

Both saw housing as transportation as the top two issues facing the region.

Buck is a 37-year-old finishing his first term on Lake Oswego's city council. He also owns the city's popular Babica Hen Cafe.

Lewis, who works as legislative director at the Bureau of Labor and Industries and two years ago managed the successful housing bond campaign in Portland. She lives in West Linn where she chairs the city's Historic Review Board.
