Bias Crime Arrest By Clackamas Sheriff After Man Attacks Woman
The Clackamas County Sheriff says a deputy arrested a man he saw attacking a woman, apparently just because of her race.

OREGON CITY, OR — A man who chased a woman into traffic, hit her and punched her in the head as he went has been arrested by a deputy with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
The attack happened around 1:30. p.m. Sunday. The deputy was parked by 82nd Drive and Luther Road when he saw the attack. Concerned the woman might get hit by a car, he turned on his lights and siren and drove over.

The woman refused medical care.
The deputy arrested 27-year-old Raymond Buffalo-Keys. He was charged with assault and disorderly conduct. He was also charged with bias crimes after telling the deputy that he didn't know the woman, he had only attacked her because of her race.
