Body Of Missing Clackamas County Woman Found: Police

Police on Thursday said they believe they've found the body of Meighan Cordie, who went missing last weekend after a wedding near Dayton.

DAYTON, OR β€” The nearly week-long search for Meighan Cordie has seemingly come to an end. Just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Yamhill County Sheriff's officials announced the discovery of a deceased woman on an onramp embankment that connects to the Southeast Dayton Bypass/Highway 18.

The woman, police said, may be Cordie.

Cordie, 27, was reported missing this past Sunday when she failed to return home from a wedding in Yamhill County. The daughter of a Clackamas Fire District captain, Cordie was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Aug. 18 walking away shoeless from the vehicle in which she'd been riding. Cordie apparently had an argument and got out to walk, leaving her phone and shoes in the car.

Around 10 a.m. Aug. 23, joggers reportedly found a woman's body down the embankment along the Southeast Foster Road onramp to Highway 18. Physical descriptions of the woman and her clothing seem to indicate the body is that of Cordie, police officials said.

Search and rescue teams had spent day and night searching for Cordie since Sunday, using air and marine patrol support in an effort to find her.
