Police ID Victim Of Nail Gun Attack In Happy Valley
Jesus Ascencio-Molina was arrested Saturday and charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting Andres Marcelo with a nail gun.

HAPPY VALLEY, OR — Police in Happy Valley on Saturday arrested the construction worker who reportedly shot his co-worker multiple times with a nail gun Friday morning. On Tuesday, Clackamas County sheriff's officials identified the victim as 24-year-old Andres C. Marcelo of Wood Village.
Jesus Ascencio-Molina, 24, was taken to Clackamas County Jail and charged with assault and attempted murder. His bail is set $250,000.
Clackamas County deputies contracted to the city of Happy Valley were dispatched to a reported assault at a home under construction on Southeast Tranquil Street, near Southeast Morning Drive, just after 10 a.m. April 13. Marcelo was reportedly working at the site with Ascencio-Molina.

Police say Ascencio-Molina shot Marcelo several times with a pneumatic framing nail gun. Marcelo was taken by Life Flight to hospital after the assault; Ascencio-Molina reportedly fled on foot toward Southeast 172nd Avenue. He was arrested Saturday morning.
Ascencio-Molina's record in Oregon only shows a dismissed theft case from 2016.

As of April 17, Marcelo was in stable condition at hospital, police said.
