Cyclist Hits Garbage Truck In Milwaukie: Police
Mia Rex was riding her electric-assisted bike at about 20 mph when she ran into the rear of a Waste Management truck on SE King Road Monday.

MILWAUKIE, OR β A bicyclist hit a garbage truck in Milwaukie Tuesday afternoon and required a trip to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Milwaukie police officials. No citations have been issued and the collision remains under investigation, police said.
Mia Rex, 50, was reportedly riding her electric-assisted bike in the eastbound bike lane on Southeast King Road around noon July 9 when she ran into the rear passenger-side tires of a Waste Management garbage truck driven by 26-year-old Dylan Hallberg.
Hallberg was reportedly pulling out of the Greenbriar Apartments at 5902 S.E. King Rd. and turning into the King Court Mobile Park at 5990 S.E. Kind Rd. when the collision occurred.

Rex was traveling at about 20 mph when she hit the truck, police said. She was taken to Milwaukie Providence for treatment.
As the weather continues to warm, the Milwaukie Police Department asks the community to be aware of more bicyclists using the roadway this summer.
