Guide Dog Struck By Hit And Run Driver, Clackamas Sheriff Says

Sapphire, a 4-year-old Golden Labrador, is a guide dog for Tiffany Taylor. A car missed Taylor, struck Sapphire, and kept going.

OREGON CITY, OR – Tiffany Taylor was walking with her guide dog, Sapphire, around 6:45 on Tuesday evening. They were crossing Southeast Monterey Avenue by Clackamas Town Center when a car sped toward them.

The car missed Taylor but struck Sapphire who was rushed to the animal hospital.

Officials say that Sapphire suffered head injuries and severe injuries to her leg. Veterinarians are trying to save the leg.
