Largest Oregon Meth Bust Results In Seizure Of Nearly 400 Pounds

The DEA working with local law enforcement seized what they say is more than $1 million worth of methamphetamines.

OREGON CITY, OR — Three hundred and eighty four pounds of methamphetamines. That's a lot of meth. So much so that it amounts to the largest seizure of the drug in Oregon's history.

Federal prosecutors Monday announced charges against 47-year-old Martin Manzo-Negrete. He's also known as Javier Cardenas-Manzo, and was arrested Sept. 15.

He's charged with possession with intent to distribute. The nearly 400 pounds is worth more than $1 million on the street, Federal officials said.

Manzo-Negrete led an organization that distributed the drug in Oregon and California, prosecutors said. Four other people were arrested and charged with him.

Agents also seized 14 firearms, some of which were stolen, and more than $76,000 in cash.
