Oregon City Crash: Driver Dies While Being Chased By Officer: Police

Just after midnight a man after crashing as he tried to stay ahead of an officer, police said.

OREGON CITY, OR —A man is dead after crashing while being chased by an officer early Thursday morning, police said. It happened around 12:15 a.m. and the driver left the road and crashed into a fence and shed, according to Oregon Police.

Police said that the officer had tried to stop a speeding vehicle on Highway 213 at Beavercreek Road. The driver led police on Beavercreek Road, through the parking lot of the Fred Meyer on Molalla Avenue and then on to Gaffney Lane.

At the intersection of Gaffney Lane and Berta Drive, the driver's vehicle left the road.

Police have not released the driver's name or age or any other details about the incident..
