Oregon City Restaurant Scene Gets Star Player, Canard Plans June Open
Acclaimed chef Gabriel Rucker is bringing his cooking to Oregon City, opening a second location of Canard, one of his downtown restaurants.

OREGON CITY, OR — Chef Gabriel Rucker — two James Beard Awards, the very favorable buzz, and the excellent foods at his acclaimed restaurants — is expanding beyond Portland. Rucker is opening a second iteration of his downtown restaurant, Canard.
The opening is set for June. In Oregon City.
"Exciting new to share today," the restaurant posted on its Facebook Page. "We're taking this show on the road! Ice cream & burgers coming to Oregon City this summer."

The restaurant then gave a shoutout to The Oregonian, which first reported the news.
Canard, which is located in downtown Portland next to its better known and even more acclaimed sister restaurant, Le Pigeon, was picked by the paper as its 2018 Restaurant of the Year.

The restaurant will move into the location at 15th Street and Jefferson Street, which was vacated by Grano Bakery last October.
Canard will have some competition, as the Oregon City food scene has been building and now includes places such as the increasingly crowded Oregon City Brewing and the Olympia Provisions Public House, which is just a block away from where Canard will be located.
