OREGON CITY, OR —A local resident made concerning statements over the phone to a county staff member Thursday morning, causing authorities to temporarily close two office buildings at Clackamas County's Red Soils Campus in Oregon City, according to the Oregon City Police Department.

OCPD Sergeant Joseph Pagano told the Portland Tribune that the resident had made a "comment borne out of frustration." Police checked the property and visited the angry caller's home just outside of Oregon City before deciding there was no danger, Pagano said.

Police later determined that no crimes were committed and that it was safe to reopen the county buildings.

"An individual called in and made some concerning statements. The statements were very veiled, and no specific threats were made." Pagano said.

Just after 11 a.m., a lockout was declared at the Clackamas County Public Services Building, 2051 Kaen Rd., and Developmental Building Services, 150 Beavercreek Rd.

According to the Portland Tribune, the Clackamas County Commissioners were an hour into a business meeting at the Public Services Building, when Chair Tootie Smith called for the sudden evacuation of the building.

"I believe at this point we are going to adjourn this meeting, and I suggest everybody evacuate this room right now," Smith said according to the Portland Tribune.

However, police determined the best course of action was to lock the buildings from the outside as a precaution.
