  1. On Jun. 11, Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum warned the Salem community about another consumer scam alert. According to Rosenblum, scammers are sending emails and text messages with fake invoices and customer service numbers that claim to be from Best Buy's Geek Squad. The scammers' message says to call a number within 24 hours, or your card will be charged for the Geek Squad membership. Rosenblum advises not to call the phone number because it is a scammer who will try to get your bank information. She also advises not to click any links or attachments in the email or text message because they could contain malware that would give the scammer access to your device. (KTVZ)
  2. Today, Jun. 12, Salem city councilors will be reviewing a draft ordinance that would tax Salem workers without voter approval. The average tax would be $42 a month and would go to expanding police, emergency response, and homeless services. After a public hearing at a later date, the councilors will vote.
