5 Events This Week at the Wilsonville Library

The Wilsonville Patch shares a list of events that bridge the gap between information and entertainment in the last week of October.

Libraries serve as the cultural and intellectual hubs of a city, providing members of the community with easy access to reference and research help. Still, a library is more than that. Residents of all ages can benefit from the wide-ranging activities and programs made available at the Wilsonville Public Library, and Patch has readers in the Wilsonville area covered with a list of five events to attend for the end of October.

  • History Pub at Wilsonville McMenamins: Happening Oct. 25, History Pub is brought to the community via teamwork between The Wilsonville Public Library Foundation, the Wilsonville/Boones Ferry Historical Society and McMenamins. This monthly program focuses on Oregon's rich history. Free to attend, the event will be held at 30340 SW Boones Ferry Rd.
  • Red Cross Blood Drive: An American Red Cross blood drive will be held Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments can be made online or via 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
  • Game Night: Residents are invited to participate in board games or bring their own, with opportunities to meet fellow gamers within a fun and informal setting. Open to all ages, game night is set for Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m. and is free to attend. Children are welcome with a parent or caregiver
  • The Marriage of Art and Fiction Class: The library will host a reading of four novels, beginning with The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova, wherein the dominant theme centers on art or an artist and his or her work. Themes of fine arts and literature are intended to come alive through discussions and presentations. The first class is scheduled for Oct. 26, 6-8 p.m., with a $40 fee for the series.
  • WilsonvilleSTAGE presents The Cemetery Club: WilsonvilleSTAGE will perform comedy-drama The Cemetery Club in the library's Oak Room from 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Oct. 27. Doors open at 7 p.m. The cost to attend is $12 for adults and $10 seniors. Free tickets are available at the circulation desk while supplies last.
