Wilsonville City Council Gets First Candidate For November Election
Katie Dunwell, a member of Wilsonville's Development Review Board Panel B, became the first candidate for November's city council election.

WILSONVILLE, OR — The election may not be until November but Katie Dunwell would like people to know that she's running for Wilsonville City Council. Dunwell made the announcement Thursday.
Dunwell is 60 years old and serves on the city's Development Review Board Panel B.
"If I can help make the this community better by serving on the City Council, then my time of service will be a success," she said. "I am following the role of my parents, to serve our community and model good behavior with a spirit of leadership rather than conflict.

"When necessary, it also means being tenacious and courageous to best serve the people of Wilsonville."
She said that she is an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation and grew up in South Dakota near the Pine Ridge Reservation.

"Her extensive professional background includes partner at a boutique investment bank and leading a marketing team at Amazon's corporate headquarters," Dunwell's campaign said.
"Katie's volunteer experience includes board experience with both nonprofit and corporate boards."
She said that her "greatest accomplishment in life is family, including her husband Jim, their three daughters and two granddaughters."
Two of the seats on the council are expected to be up for grabs in November's nonpartisan election. Councilor Ben West is running for a seat on the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners and Councilor Charlotte Lehann is term-limited from running for reelection.
