2026 Preliminary Budget Introduced In Abington

Abington Township is kicking off its municipal budget process with a special meeting.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The township is starting its annual fall ritual — the municipal budget process.

The Abington Township Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday to present the Fiscal Year 2026 Preliminary Proposed Township Budget.

That preliminary budget may be slated for approval by commissioners at a meeting scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13.

The budget will then be up for final adoption at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, when commissioners will vote on the municipal budget after a public hearing on its millage ordinance.

The township will hold a free shredding event from 9 a.m. to Noon on Saturday. Residents are encouraged to bring any confidential or personal documents they want to discard.

The event will take place at the Public Works Yard at 2201 Florey Lane, in Abington.

There is a limit of four boxes/bags per car, and each box/bag cannot exceed 30 pounds.

The shredding is limited to township residents only, and no businesses. The Abington Township Environmental Advisory Council will also be collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations for the local food pantry. Click here for more information
