Abington Girls Flag Football Team Playoff Bound After 8-0 First Season
Abington Senior High School's first-ever Girls Flag Football Team went undefeated in their inaugural season and are playoff bound.

ABINGTON, PA — The first-ever girls flag football team at Abington Senior High School has earned a playoff bid.
According to the district, the team ended their season undefeated, 8-0, finishing first in their division.
The first playoff game will be played at home at Schwarzman Stadium on Tuesday.

If Abington wins the first game, they will advance to another game later in the day.
The advancement to playoffs alone is a big victory already for the roughly 20 students, many of whom are playing the sport for the first time, the district said.

The team's final two wins of the regular season were against Archbishop Wood, 43-34, and North Penn, 34-12.
Sponsored by the Philadelphia Eagles, this is the league’s second year, and Abington’s first year participating.
The league has grown from just 15 teams last season to over 38 for 2023.
The aim is to empower female athletes and encourage broader flag football participation across the Greater Philadelphia area.
The championship game is scheduled for May 17 at the NovaCare Center.
