Abington Memorial Cancer Program Earns Outstanding Achievement Award
The hospital's cancer center was granted a 2012 Outstanding Achievement Award by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
Abington Memorial Hospital’s Rosenfield Cancer Center was one of 79 cancer programs in the country to earn a 2012 Outstanding Achievement Award. The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons granted the award.
According to the hospital’s website, The Rosenfield Cancer Center is only one of three such facilities in Pennsylvania to earn the award, which was based on qualitative surveys conducted in 2012.
The award is designed to recognize cancer treatment programs that strive for excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients. Criteria for the Outstanding Achievement Award are based on:

“On behalf of the men and women of The Rosenfeld Cancer Center and our extraordinary hospital, we are very proud to achieve this honor from the Commission on Cancer,” Dr. John Redmond, III, director of the Rosenfeld Cancer Center at Abington Memorial Hospital, said on the website. “This recognizes our multi-modality, evidence-based program through which we bring patient-centered care to our community.”
