ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Democrats won four seats on the Abington School Board in Tuesday's general election, holding off a challenge from three Republican candidates, according to unofficial results.

Abington school board candidates debated the impact that a new middle school would have. In the May primary election, voters approved building a new $285 million middle school by a narrow 500-vote margin among 17,000 residents who went to the polls.

All of the township's 39 precincts reported their vote tallies from Tuesday's election.
