Glenside Man Pleads Guilty For Filming Girl In Shower: Report

Abington Police said the incident happened in New Jersey but another incident took place in the township.

GLENSIDE, PA — A Montgomery County man has pleaded guilty to a July 2024 incident in which he filmed a girl taking a shower at a rental property where he was living in New Jersey, according to reports.

David Lyons, 44, of Glenside, pleaded guilty to manufacturing child sexual abuse material and invasion of privacy for recording a 15-year-old girl as she was showering at the Beach Haven, N.J., property, Action News 6 reported.

Prosecutors are seeking a nine-year sentence. Lyons is expected to be sentenced on Nov. 14.

Abington Police said that on July 21, 2024, Lyons was arrested by the Beach Haven Police Department for recording a family member showering in an outdoor shower. Police uncovered evidence that Lyons allegedly also recorded others at a township home.

Members of the Abington Township Police Department’s Special Victims Unit began an investigation into those allegations.

Abington Detectives said that Lyons recorded a juvenile and an adult in various stages of undress in a bathroom at a home in the 2200 block on several occasions. A warrant was then issued to arrest Lyons on multiple charges.

On March 26, Lyons turned himself in to the police and was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Duffy, who set bail at $10,000 cash.
