Military Flyovers Expected Over Weekend In Philly Region

PHILADELPHIA — You may hear a roar in the sky this weekend and see military might flying high.

But don't be alarmed. The military jets are part of the US Navy and Marine Corps 250th anniversary celebration going on in the Philadelphia region this weekend.

The Montgomery County Department of Public Safety and other agencies in the Philadelphia region said that military aircraft will be performing ceremonial flyovers at low altitude in the region on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Officials said that cCurrent plans call for multiple rounds of flyovers each day: late morning, midday, and early afternoon.

Military aircraft will likely be visible in central, eastern, and southern Montgomery County, as well as across the Philadelphia region.

Officials are urging area residents not to call 911 to report these flyovers.
