More Screws Found On Driveways Of Abington GOP Candidate Supporters: PD
Abington Police have reported at least a dozen incidents targeting supporters of Ward 6 Commissioners candidate Maria DellaMonica.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Twelve homes displaying political signs of support for a Ward 6 Republican commissioner candidate have had screws left in their driveways over the past week, police said.
Abington Police are investigating several incidents of screws being left on the driveways of residents displaying political signs of Maria DellaMonica, who is running for a commissioner seat against incumbent Democratic Commissioner Jeffrey Browne in Tuesday's general election.
Police said they have no suspects as of Friday afternoon.

Ed Quinn, deputy chief in charge of detectives in the Abington Police Department, told Patch on Friday that 12 different homes have been targeted since initial reports last weekend.
Quinn said that the homes haven't been targeted on any certain day of the week. He said most of the homes impacted are in the 100-500 blocks of Hamel Avenue and Maple Avenue.

"I don’t ever recall us dealing with something of this nature during election time," Quinn said.
The Abington Human Relations Commission said that "acts targeting individuals for their beliefs undermine the democratic process and erode the sense of trust that holds our township together."
Browne, who represents Ward 6 in North Hills, has invited DellaMonica and her family for a "Cookout with the Candidates" on Sunday. DellaMonica told Patch that she is unavailable that day.
