LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —With a wintry mix of snow and sleet overnight, school districts throughout Lower Bucks County are either closed, having delayed openings, or planning a remote learning day.

Here is the list of Lower Bucks County school districts and their plans for Thursday:

  • Bensalem School District —Remote Learning
  • Bristol Township School District —Remote Learning
  • Children of America (Ivyland/Southampton/Warminster) —Closed
  • Morrisville School District —Closed
  • Neshaminy School District —Closed
  • Pennsbury School District —Remote Learning

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 1 p.m. Thursday.

Snow and sleet are expected to reach the Philadelphia area around midnight, moving north and transitioning to a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain before sunrise Thursday. This could make for some icy spots on the roads and sidewalks as people head out to work or school on Thursday morning, said forecasters.

In total, forecasters predict snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch, and ice accumulations between one-tenth and two-tenths of an inch.

Here is the latest forecast for the Philadelphia region from the NWS:

Thursday: Rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet, becoming all rain after 10 a.m. High near 42. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch is possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.

Thursday night: A slight chance of rain before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. West wind 5 to 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 42. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26.
