Smokin' Jim's Roadside BBQ Comes to Glenside
Chick Orlando's Edge Hill Tavern is now home to Glenside's newest barbecue joint, Smokin' Jim's Roadside Smokehouse.

GLENSIDE, PA – Recent passersby to Chick Orlando's Edge Hill Tavern at 32 Limekiln Pike may have noticed a mouthwatering odor emanating from the building's takeout window. Those curious enough to venture up to the building are greeted by a banner and sign for the Chick Orlando's latest tenant, Smokin' Jim's Roadside Smokehouse.
Smokin' Jim's Roadside Smokehouse is the brainchild of Conshohocken residents, Jim Andruskiewicz and Patricia Delamere, who started cooking and serving barbecue to friends and family members in May 2020.
As the compliments poured in, the two decided to expand their brand and take their barbecue on the road, selling food to hungry customers at breweries, bars, and social clubs throughout Montgomery County. Smokin' Jim's, and its founders, are so beloved by the owners and patrons of McAllister Brewing Company in North Wales that they named their brand of hard iced tea Smokin' Jim's Chillin' Tea.

Over the last year, Smokin' Jim's has grown from a cult following of rugby players and craft beer enthusiasts to a wider audience of customers seeking outstanding barbecue at a fair price. Both Andruskiewicz and Delamere are active in local rugby clubs, including Blackthorn Rugby Club in Horsham. When asked how the local rugby community has supported the recent expansion of Smokin’ Jim’s, Delamere told Patch, “Rugby has always been an important part of both of our lives. However, I never could have imagined the overwhelming support from the entire rugby community since day one. Every event we host, we are blown away at the number of people who show up from multiple rugby clubs across the Philadelphia area.”
Smokin’ Jim’s offers hungry customers a variety of barbecue entrées and sides each week. Their ever-popular pulled pork sandwiches and spare ribs are a menu staple, but they also like to experiment with new offerings, such as smoked bratwurst sandwiches and stout beer smoked meatballs. Both of these new additions to the menu were a hit with customers, old and new alike.

If a new opportunity to pick up great local barbecue isn’t enough for you, Smokin’ Jim’s is also active in raising money for local charities and causes. During the month of June, a portion of proceeds from sales went to support The AJ Foundation For Children With Autism in Wycombe. “From the beginning, Smokin’ Jim's was founded on the bedrock of giving back, which is something we never want to forget. From the time we met AJ, and saw the work done by The AJ Foundation, it became an easy decision that this organization would be our first nonprofit of the month. For July, we are supporting another amazing organization, the Summer Camps at College Settlement,” Delamere told Patch.
The permanent location at Chick Orlando's allows for the brand and fan base to grow in a community that is no stranger to great restaurants and bars. Andruskiewicz told Patch, “It's a wonderful feeling to have a place of our own. It's a dream we wouldn't have been able to realize without the support of Montgomery County's reigning, defending Best Bartender, and all-around great guy, Tony Orlando.”
