Wildlife Sanctuary Closed For Construction In Abington.
Abington Township officials said Phase II construction of the sanctuary has begun.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Ardsley Wildlife Sanctuary is closed for construction.
The Phase 2 project will extend the ADA-accessible trail from the end of the Phase 1 trail to the large pond to the north, creating a total of 400 linear feet of accessible pathway, township officials said.
The project will include the removal of invasive plant species, particularly porcelain berry, and the restoration of woodland, riparian, and meadow habitats.

Natural stormwater features, such as vegetated swales and a rain garden, will be installed to help address existing erosion issues and to filter and reduce runoff.
Two new observation points — an ADA elevated walkway and a stone slab at the rain garden — along with interpretive signage, will also be added to enhance visitor experience.
