Pennsylvania CSX Train Derailment: 100s Evacuated After Train Cars Catch Fire (VIDEO)
A total of 32 cars on the train derailed and at least two cars carrying hazardous materials caught on fire.

HYNDMAN, PA — At least 32 cars on a CSX train, some of which were carrying hazardous materials, derailed in Pennsylvania on Wednesday and at least two of the cars caught fire, prompting residents in the immediate vicinity to evacuate their homes, a CSX spokesperson said.
The derailment in Hyndyman, Pennsylvania, which is located about 100 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, was reported at around 5 a.m. The two cars that caught on fire were carrying liquefied petroleum gas and molten sulphur.
No injuries have been reported.

"CSX hazardous-material experts are working alongside firefighters to assess the scope of the damage, develop a plan to contain the leaks and set up environmental protective measures and monitoring," CSX spokesperson Rob Doolittle said in an emailed statement.
The train involved was traveling from Chicago to Selkirk, New York and consisted of five locomotives and 178 rail cars.

Everyone within a half mile of the site was evacuated and about 100 people have had to leave their homes.
CSX has set up a community outreach center at Hyndman Ministry Church.
