BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Races for mayor and council went down to the wire as voters cast ballots in Tuesday's general election.

The mayoral race involves a Democratic challenger trying to unseat Bensalem's mayor of 32 years.

Meanwhile, there will be a new council member on the five-member board with longtime Councilman Joseph Pilieri not seeking re-election.

Bensalem Township Municipal Offices

Mayor: 4-Year Term

  • Joseph DiGirolamo (Republican) — 4,751 votes
  • Stephanie A.G. Ferrandez (Democrat) — 4,389 votes

Township Council: 4-Year Term (Vote for 3)

  • Jesse Sloane (Democrat) — 5,017 votes
  • Ed Tokmajian (Democrat) — 4,947 votes
  • Joseph Wenzel Jr. (Democrat) — 5,005 votes
  • Michelle Benitez (Republican) — 3,660 votes
  • Stacey Champion (Republican) — 3,703 votes
  • Will Walker (Republican) — 3,586 votes

Auditor: 6-Year Term (Vote for 1)

  • Zachary Winters (Democrat) — 5,075 votes
  • J. Patel (Republican) — 3,889 votes

Treasurer: 4-Year Term (Vote for 1)

  • Santos M. Ramos (Democrat) — 4,651 votes
  • Mike Brill (Republican) — 4,375 votes
