Bensalem Police Department Hires 3 New Officers

Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo and Director of Public Safety William McVey announced the hiring of three former Philadelphia Police officers.

BENSALEM, PA — The Bensalem Police Department has announced the hiring of three new police officers to their force.

Officers James Donohoe, Sekou Washington, and Francis McColgan, all formerly of the Philadelphia Police Department, were sworn in by Bensalem Township Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo at a ceremony on the morning of Friday, March 11.

"Their expertise, experience, and knowledge will be a huge asset to the Bensalem Township Police Department as well as every member of the community," the police department said in an online statement.

The police department's Director of Public Safety, William McVey, was also present at the ceremony.

"Please help us welcome them and wish them a long, safe, and happy career at the Bensalem Township Police Department.," the police department continued.
