Bensalem Police Officers Receive Regional Awards

Four Bensalem police officers received awards "for police performance and heroism" at a ceremony on Tuesday.

BENSALEM, PA — Several Bensalem Township Police Officers received regional awards for their heroism and performance at a ceremony on Tuesday.

Officer Robert Schwarting was honored by the Citizen’s Crime Commission with the Bucks County “Outstanding Police Performance” award. This award is in recognition go his proactive arrests, gun seizures, and the community work he has done through the Police Athletic League (PAL) and the Bensalem Township K9 Unit.

Officers Steve Ambs, Samuel Ladd, and Kenneth Branford received the Bucks County “Legion of Excellence” award from the Delaware Valley Association of Professional Police Officials.

The three were awarded for their efforts in rescuing an unconscious man from a local apartment fire in August of 2021.
