Bensalem Woman Stabs Man Outside Hospital: Police

Janae Wiley, 25, was arrested at St. Mary's Children's Health Center on Thursday after allegedly stabbing a man in the leg, police said.

BENSALEM, PA — A Bensalem woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man in the leg outside of St. Mary’s Children’s Health Center on Thursday, Feb. 24.

Janae Wiley, 25, was arrested in the health center's parking lot, located on Knights Road, after the incident, police said.

According to court papers, the victim’s daughter was being held in his arms at the time of the incident. She was within striking distance of the pocket knife used in the incident.

Police said a “fresh puncture wound” was observed on the victim’s leg when they arrived.

Wiley was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, and endangering the welfare of children, according to court documents. She is currently in Bucks County Prison, with her bail set at 10 percent of $25,000.

Wiley is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on March 17 in the Bensalem District Court. She will appear before Judge Joseph P. Falcone, according to court documents.

It is still unclear as to the cause of the altercation.
