Bucks Sex Offender Charged With Failing To Update Address

Epifano Riberas was charged with failing to report his current address as part of his conviction under Megan's Law.

BENSALEM, PA — A Bucks County man was charged earlier this month after failing to notify authorities of his new address, a part of his conviction under Megan's Law.

According to the Bensalem Police Department, Epifano Riberas was arrested when it was discovered that he had not updated his address and occupation. He is a lifetime reporter of these two pieces of information as part of Megan's Law; Riberas was convicted on charges of rape and incest in 2002.

Riberas was charged with failure to provide accurate registration information, as well as failure to register with PSP.

Bucks County Park Rangers requested the assistance of Penndel Police to verify Riberas' address in Penndel for an upcoming trial where Riberas was the defendant on a separate criminal charge.

After attempts to find Riberas' address in Penndel were made, police indicated that the address did not exist at all. Authorities also checked the tax and property records for Penndel and found no evidence that Riberas lived there or that the address existed at all.

He was later found to be living in the Bensalem Township area. After showing police where he lived in Penndel on a map, police determined that the address was not on their files.

Riberas was arrested for failing to comply with Megan's Law registration information. Riberas was sent to Bucks County Prison to await his hearing, with his bail set at 10% of $50,000.
