Car Theft Groups Spotted In Bensalem, Police Issue Warning

"Numerous" reports of thefts from vehicles over the weekend in Bensalem prompted police to issue a warning to area residents.

BENSALEM, PA - Authorities are warning residents to lock their cars after “numerous” reports of thefts from vehicles were taken over the weekend in Bensalem.

In a statement, Bensalem police urged residents to lock car doors and remain on the lookout for suspicious activity on or around residential properties.

“Small groups of thieves are targeting our streets in the middle of the night,” Bensalem police said. “They pull on car doors until they find one unlocked and then YOU become their next victim.”

The police department also urged residents to upload any videos of suspicious persons by using the department’s new web portal.

“Motion activated lights are not enough. Set your cameras to send an alert when there is movement on your property and dial 9-1-1 if you see someone around your vehicles and home,” Bensalem police added.

“Contact police if you are a victim of a theft so that we can track the crime trends. The owners of these vehicles did NOT become victims because they took a few seconds to lock their car doors.”
