Craft Beer Conference Coming To Parx Casino

The casino will host 'The Business of Brews & Stills', which will discuss the economic impact of the craft beer industry in the area.

BENSALEM, PA — Parx Casino will be hosting a conference discussing the craft beer industry and its economic impact in Bucks County on Thursday, April 7.

The event's plenary speaker will be Heather Walter, Marketing Director of Visit Bucks County. Walter will discuss the 'Bucks County Ale Trail', which includes 24 breweries and 30 taprooms that drive tourism in the Bucks County area, resulting in a high economic impact.

The keynote speaker will be Herman C. Mihalich, the founder and distiller of Dad's Hat Rye Whiskey, a popular Bucks County distillery. Mihalich will discuss the history of rye whiskey and its connections to Bucks County.

Other speakers will include founders, brewers, and business people from Naked Brewing Company, Great Barn Farm Microbrewery, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, Broken Goblet Brewing, Mutual Respect Brewers Co-op, and Chatty Monks Brewing.

These speakers will partake in lectures on the business and entrepreneurial nature of breweries and taprooms, as well as their place in the business community of Bucks County.

The event will be held in the casino's Liberty Bell Beer Garden, located at 2999 Street Rd. in Bensalem, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests will be treated to a buffet-style lunch at 12:15 p.m., as well as a taste-testing of drinks after the event.

Tickets for the event cost $50 for casino members and $65 for non-members.
