Travel restrictions will take place in Bensalem and Middletown townships next week for construction. Read below for all the details.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a series of lane closures and traffic stoppages that will take place in Bensalem and Middletown townships from this coming Monday through Thursday.

The closures are related to various construction activities under two separate projects that aim to rebuild, widen and improve U.S. 1 in Bucks County, according to a statement from PennDOT.

  • Monday through Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., intermittent single lane closures with 15-minute traffic stoppages will be in place on U.S. 1 in both directions between the Route 413 and Neshaminy interchanges for blasting and excavation.
  • Monday through Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., intermittent 15-minute traffic stoppages will be in place on Bristol Road in both directions between Old Lincoln Highway and Neshaminy Boulevard during the blasting and excavation on U.S. 1.
  • Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning, a single lane traffic pattern with flaggers will be in place on Rockhill Drive between Old Lincoln Highway and Neshaminy Boulevard for paving.

The construction is a part of a larger project to widen almost three miles of U.S. 1. The construction of new structures over the Neshaminy Creek and over rail lines near the Penndel exit will be built as a part of the project.
